Dear Faculty, Administrators and Staff,
In the fall of 2021, in support of Goal 1 of the Strategic Plan, the then Provost, Dr. Katia Passerini, convened the University Committee on the Catholic Intellectual Tradition [CIT]. Since its inception, the CIT has been working on, articulating, and communicating the Catholic identity and mission of the University; working to better understand the CIT; studying the relevance of this tradition to broader study at Seton Hall University; and working on the ecumenical and interreligious vision of the University community.

I would like to thank the members of this important University committee for their work to date, and I am happy to announce that Dr. Justin M. Anderson will co-chair the Committee during this academic year. Dr. Anderson is a Professor and Chair of Moral Theology at Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology at Seton Hall University. He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) in 2011 and has been at Seton Hall since that time. He is the author and co-editor of various books in philosophy and theology in the Catholic tradition. Knowing the Catholic Intellectual Tradition to be a vast tradition with multiple spaces and voices, Dr. Anderson looks forward to working with other members of the committee to further explore these riches at Seton Hall.

Rev. Brian Muzas, assistant professor in the School of Diplomacy and International Relations has been and will continue his role as co-chair of the CIT with Dr. Anderson.
Please join me in thanking the CIT Committee and Rev. Muzas and Dr. Anderson for their work in this coming year.
