Drive, Chip, and Putt for a Great Cause We're hitting the link for the annual Hon. Guy J. Mangano Golf Classic on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, NY. Before testing your skills on the green, join us for a buffet brunch. You'll enjoy lunch on the course and, when your round is done, we're teeing up cocktails and a fabulous buffet dinner, along with awards, prizes, and raffles. Stanford Law Professor George Fisher will include an extract from Professor Anna Roberts' 2016 Boston University Law Review article, "Conviction by Prior Impeachment," in the 2022 edition of his Evidence casebook.
Professor Rosemary Salomone participated in a conference on Inequality in a Time of Global Crisis sponsored by the Berkeley Center on Comparative Equality and Anti-Discrimination Law and the University of Cape Town. Her presentation, In Search of Transformative Justice: The South African Constitutional Court and the Right to Education in the Language of One's Choice, examined the intersectionality of race and language in post-apartheid South Africa.
The New Yorker quoted Professor Eva Subotnik in an article about the legacy and legal questions surrounding the work of Mike Disfarmer, a small-town Arkansas photographer who died in 1959 without a will and found substantial fame only after death. Professor Subotnik's scholarship and research interests focus on issues of artistic intent that arise in the realm of copyright law and policy.

Congratulations to rising 3Ls Meghan Paola and Kristin Russo, who were awarded 2021 American Immobiliare Scholarships, recognizing their academic achievement, service, and leadership consistent with the values of Italian American influencers and innovators in the field of commercial real estate.
A Pillar Student Competition Gets a New Name This summer, 58 rising 2Ls vied for 15 spots in the Law School's Moot Court Honor Society by presenting oral arguments at the Hon. Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick '67, '03HON Moot Court Competition. Formerly the Rev. Joseph T. Tinnelly Moot Court Competition, the internal contest was renamed recently to honor esteemed alumna Hon. Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick, the first Puerto Rican woman to serve as a New York State trial judge and the first Hispanic, and second woman, to sit on the state's Court of Appeals. Judge Ciparick will meet with the Moot Court staffers during their first week of class.
