HB 37, by Rep. Rob Leverett, would require local school systems to notify employees of all Social Security withholdings and the eligibility of retirement benefits.

HB 42, by Rep. Sandra Scott, would require the state to pay 100% of a local school district’s pupil transportation costs.

HB 47 would create a QBE weight funding formula for school safety.

HB 48 would create QBE funding to establish “the Refugee and International Students Equalization (RISE) program” to provide for funding and wrap-around services for eligible students.

HB 56 creates state scholarships for children of law enforcement officers, firefighters, and prison guards who were killed or disabled in the line of duty.

Gov. Brian Kemp has announced an additional $50 million for school safety in the current year budget.  The grant
brings the total amount for fiscal year 2025 to almost $69,000 per school.  Kemp also proposed an additional $10.3 million for student transportation this year.  Kemp also stated that: "Tort reform will be my top legislative priority for this upcoming session."

The U.S. House has passed a bill that would prohibit federal funding from flowing to schools unless they ban transgender athletes from women’s and girls’ sports.
