We are pleased to announce that Bishop Swanson and the cabinet of the Mississippi Conference of the United Methodist Church have appointed Rev. Dawn Flowers as the next senior minister of Parkway Hills UMC.   Reverend Flowers is currently serving Main Street UMC in Bay St. Louis, MS. She and her husband, Shawn, along with their children Abby Jo (10), Davis (8) and Coady (4) will be moving here the last week of June.  She will lead us in worship for the first time on Sunday, July 2nd(Please note: We will all worship together at 10:00 am on that Sunday.)
Dawn is very service and mission-oriented.  She enjoys leading Bible study, preaching and serving a church engaged in service with its community and beyond.  Shawn is an educator and coach, currently teaching upper elementary PE and coaching middle and high school girls’ softball.  He also has a degree in gifted education.
We are all deeply grateful for the leadership of Bruce Case, who has served us so well as a pastor, teacher, leader and friend for the past seven years. As he prepares for his new appointment at Parkway Heights UMC in Hattiesburg, we ask that you keep Bruce and his family, as well as Dawn and her family, and all the congregations involved in your prayers during this time of transition.

Some "Church Trolls" prepared the wood, others helped sand and stain, children wrote loving messages on the slats, linens and bedding were funded and purchased... and yesterday, beds were delivered!  Last night, 5 children, (who had been sleeping on the floor of their trailer), had a comfortable, safe, and beautiful night's sleep, thanks to all those who helped with the Bunk Bed Ministry(Click to see more photos!)  As Wayne Jones and Linda Irby helped Bill Flynn pack his truck for the trip, Bill asked, "Is ministry supposed to be this much fun?"  It certainly is hard to say who received the biggest blessing from this gift. Be sure to mark your calendars for our next Bunk Bed Blitz:  Wednesday night, May 10th.
Two Reminders: Continue to join us for #2PMPrayer as we focus on Community during Lent.
And, Bruce wasn't joking: we all need to memorize Psalm 23
Our 4th and 5th graders are invited to join us for a "Glow-in-the-Dark" Easter Egg Hunt!  Friday, April 7th from 6 - 8 pm.

We will be taking 96 sturdy new backpacks with us to share through the Ministry with the Homeless. If you would like to be a part of this outreach, meet us in the PHUMC parking lot at 7:45 am.  Our next goal is to collect insect repellent, (OFF! Deep Woods Aerosol, Unscented, 6-oz.
