Grandview Elementary Embraces CATCH Program
After Kick-Off Week 
Grandview Elementary in Bloomington, Indiana held a kick-off week from September 12th-17th to celebrate CATCH's launch in their school. Since then, they’ve been eagerly embracing the program with various in-school activities such as Fitness Fridays, GO SLOW and WHOA foods discussions, and incorporating movement into math activities. They are also receiving parental involvement, saying, "We are excited to bridge the gap between home and school and learn that positive health behaviors are occurring in the home setting as well as in school." CATCH in Ysleta ISD - Phase 1 Results are in 
and Phase 2 is Launched!

In August 2015, CATCH Global Foundation partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas to bring CATCH to 14 schools and 7,500 students in Ysleta ISD. The results are in and we're happy to share the success! You can see some graphical summaries in this blog post, and the full report here
Given the momentum and success thus far, the program expanded to include 11,000 students and 23 schools in Phase 2 this fall, which kicked-off with a training October 24th. 
CATCH in Detroit YMCAs: 1-Year Follow-up
It’s been about a year since Detroit YMCAs’ HEPA team implemented CATCH in their after-school and summer programming, and they have seen some great preliminary results! See below for some highlights and this recent blog post for a full story.
  • 74% of students showed improvement in nutrition or physical activity knowledge
  • 71% of students reported improvement in physical activity, nutritional, or screen time habits
  • 97% of parents agreed that the program was beneficial for their student

CATCH Global Foundation Awarded St. David's Foundation Opportunity Grant for Youth E-cigarette Prevention Program, CATCH My Breath
Opportunity Grants, a new initiative by St. David’s Foundation, are aimed at collaborative, creative new approaches to addressing a wide range of health issues across Central Texas. We are thrilled to be selected as one of the 10 grantees to receive this grant, and look forward to bringing the CATCH My Breath Youth E-cigarette Prevention Program to middle schools throughout Central Texas this year and next!   • Early Childhood Coordination Kit
    The new CATCH Early Childhood Coordination Kit, created in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is designed to promote and reinforce the values of CATCH through simple, enjoyable, and inexpensive promotions and activities. Whether using the kit to build upon your existing CATCH program or as a newcomer to CATCH, this is a great resource and now available FREE to download from the CATCH website.

  • K-1 Sunbeatables™ Online Training
    It’s now easier than ever for educators to access the evidence-based Sunbeatables K-1 sun safety education program, developed by the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Summer may be over, but sun protection is important year-round, even on cloudy or cold days. UV rays can pass through the clouds to reach your skin and you can even get a sunburn in the winter.     Digital CATCH continues to grow! Free samples from CATCH Early Childhood (teacher's manual & activity box) and all of the resources from the CATCH Elementary and Middle School Coordination Kits are now available here on Digital CATCH

"Flavors of Fall" #CATCHchallenge
Apples, pears, pumpkins, squash – so much delicious seasonal produce and GO Foods to look forward to in the fall! We want to see YOUR favorite healthy fall flavors! 

Enter by snapping a pic of a healthy fall dish and posting it to social media using the hashtag #CATCHchallenge by Dec. 20th (the last day of fall). Three participants will be selected to win $50 Flaghouse certificates for CATCH equipment/curriculum!
