Tonight is our famous shrimp boil!
Other foods will be provided for those who don't eat shrimp. Please come!
On July 7 we began a new worship series at 10:45, focusing on the wisdom of the church. After a year-long emphasis on the wisdom of scripture, we are celebrating a month devoted to hearing the wisdom some of our church family have gleaned over the years in their own faith journey. Rev. Dawn Douglas Flowers kicked it off Sunday, July 7, and was outstandingly followed by Branden Henry on July 14. This week we welcomed Shelley Powers, and this coming Sunday, Bill Flynn will lead us.
We hope this series inspires you to reflect on your own faith journey and what wisdom you have received and hope to pass on from your own experience as part of the body of Christ.
Big House Books is a non-profit, volunteer organization that sends free books by request to prisoners in Mississippi correctional facilities in order to promote literacy and be a vehicle of change for prison reform.
Parkway Hills partners with Big House Books by providing books, and volunteering in the packing and shipping office. Amanda Hamilton coordinates our efforts to collect paperback books in good condition and deliver them to Big House Books office. You'll find our book donation basket in the foyer of the Education building Examples of paperbacks needed:
dictionaries, religious books, foreign language learning, trades and skills.
We wanted to share some letters of gratitude from the incarcerated readers who YOU have helped. If you’d like to continue helping serve readers like these, consider donating to their postage fund here. Just $5 sends one package of at least 3 books to an incarcerated Mississippian.
