Hello, Families! Hopefully, you've been able to enjoy some fun (and rest) amid the heat! Although it's nice to have some downtime to plan for the new academic year, I miss the energy that radiates around campus when our students are with us. We are excited to welcome everyone back in a few short weeks.

Here's some helpful information to review, place on the calendar and discuss with your Wildcat as they enjoy these final weeks of summer and prepare to return to Villanova!

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to their home away from home this August! For our returning residential students, Fall 2024 move-in will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24 and Sunday, Aug. 25 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Students received an email on Wednesday, July 24 with important move-in information and a link to sign up for an arrival time. Please encourage your Villanovan to check their email for details if they haven't done so already.

Juniors and Seniors are reminded to order their class ring by Friday, Aug. 2 if they would like to receive it in time for the Family Weekend Ring Blessing on Friday, Sept. 27. Students received a reminder in mid-July with class ring information, including ordering deadlines. Orders can be placed online. If your Villanovan has specific questions, please encourage them to contact our Balfour representative, Tina Stenman.

Rings can continue to be ordered after Friday, Aug. 2; however, they will not arrive in time for this year's Ring Blessing. Balfour representatives will be on campus to assist in placing orders on Tuesday, Aug. 27 and Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Family Weekend is on the horizon! We welcome our families back to campus to enjoy the University through their Wildcat’s eyes and experience. It’s a great weekend to have fun, reconnect with your student, learn about opportunities and resources and socialize with other Villanova families and friends. Our schedule is available online and will continue to be updated over the next several weeks. Registration and payment for some events will be required and will open later in August.

In the meantime, if your family is interested in participating in Tailgate on the Green, we are offering two opportunities this year—the first during Family Weekend on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 3-6 p.m., and the second during Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 26. Please visit the Family Weekend page for details surrounding Tailgate on the Green and instructions for how students can register to enter the lottery for a chance to purchase a tent during Family Weekend.

We invite all students to the Fall Student Involvement Fair to learn about the 200+ student organizations they can get involved with on campus. This year, the Involvement Fair will take place on Friday, Sept. 6 from 4-7 p.m. on Mendel Field. It's never too late to explore a new interest! This is a great opportunity for returning students to become involved in co-curricular activities, explore their interests and cultivate their passions on campus. 

The Office of Student Involvement also has a robust calendar of events. Take a look at what is planned as students return to campus, and remind your Villanovan to check the calendar frequently for additions and updates to the lineup!

The Meal Plan Portal is open for students to make changes to their selections through Wednesday, Aug. 30. After Tuesday, Sept. 3, changes will no longer be accepted.

Is your Villanovan interested in working on campus? Whether or not your student was awarded work-study, Villanova has countless opportunities for students to earn money working on campus while pursuing their education. Encourage your Villanovan to visit the University's Student Employment page to begin exploring the opportunities available today. Working on campus creates great connections between students and other Villanova staff, faculty and students.

Summer break is perfect for your Villanovan to take advantage of the Career Center’s on-demand resources. Whether they are choosing a major and career path, or they are ready to apply for internships and jobs, there are tools and resources available to them no matter their major or class year.
