Goal Setting in 2015

The new year is here. Have you set your resolutions yet? For most people, at least one of those resolutions is a health and/or fitness goal they'd like to achieve. For the last five years, the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District has run a "Biggest Loser" style weight loss and fitness competition, but this year we've made some changes. This year, the challenge is all about your resolution, your goal, whether it be weight loss, to run your first 5k or to change your diet. This year's program includes more: an eight-week facility pass with unlimited classes, a free weight training session led by a certified personal trainer, free nutrition classes and meal plan from a nutritionist, online support, group workouts and more! Make sure to sign up soon. More details are in the fitness class section of the website.

Christmas Tree Mulching

The Parks Department is accepting Christmas trees for chipping at the Equestrian Center now through Sunday, Jan. 18. Please be sure to remove any non-coniferous items such as metallic materials and tinsel before bringing your trees, as many materials can damage the chipping equipment. The mulch will be applied at the base of trees and shrubs in parks and greenbelts. Simply drop off your tree in the designated area (there is a sign) at the Equestrian Center. Please do not leave trees after Sunday, Jan. 18.
