I’m Scott Thayer, the 13th President of Cypress College. In this role, it is my honor to serve you, our students, and to help ensure your success here. At Cypress College, we say “We Take This Journey Together.” For me, that means we are One Cypress, a unified community where we are invested in each others’ achievements. As faculty, staff, and administrators here, we are not successful if you are not successful.
So, as this year begins, I ask you to remember this philosophy. At some point in the semester, you may need help — and, when you do, please remember that helping you be successful is why we are here. There is no wrong door to open and no wrong person to ask. All of us are here to support you on your educational journey.
This week, you have been receiving multiple messages sent by the college with specific information about our programs, services, and the myriad ways we can provide assistance. Please save these in your inbox for future reference.
Spring is a busy time on campus. The campus will soon be alive with activity and, before you know it, spring recess will have come and gone and our celebratory commencement season will be upon us.
So, welcome to the spring semester! I look forward to seeing you on campus.
