More than 5,000 Special Olympics Oklahoma athletes will meet in Stillwater this May for Summer Games. We would like to personally invite your agency to participate and to experience Opening Ceremonies. Each year, law enforcement agencies around Oklahoma have the honor of carrying the torch with the Flame of Hope to Special Olympics competitions. They gather in Stillwater to be part of the Final Leg to carry the torch through the Summer Games and Opening Ceremonies. We would like to invite you and members of your agency to be part of the Final Leg and see what the Law Enforcement Torch Run is all about. If you are interested in getting involved in Summer Games -email Jennifer Lightle.
TORCH RUN 2015
Each year, hundreds of Oklahoma law enforcement employees organize and participate in the Torch Run for Special Olympics. The Torch Run is a series of relay runs leading up to the Special Olympics Oklahoma State Summer Games. Runners carry the Torch from all corners of the state and meet up in Stillwater. Oklahoma’s annual Torch Run is also a fundraising opportunity for Special Olympics Oklahoma. Runners are encouraged to collect pledges from family and friends for their participation in the event. Your pledges are a great way to encourage the runner and also raise money for the athletes of Special Olympics Oklahoma.
