Two information sessions will be hosted on Monday, March 3 in-person at the GW Arlington Education Center at 5pm, and virtually on Tuesday, March 4 at 5pm. The deadline for applications is Monday, April 28.

Black Farmers Conversation Series Coming Soon!

Black farmers have been integral to shaping America’s food systems. Throughout history, Black farmers have nurtured their land and communities with extraordinary perseverance, embodying a legacy of strength, innovation, and cultural wisdom.
Join a new series led by host Dr. Mya O. Price and co-hosted by the Global Food Institute, GW’s Equity Institute, and GW’s Department of History. This series will educate, inspire, and motivate students, faculty, policymakers, farmers, and other stakeholders who want to elevate the impact of black farmers in their community.
The first event will take place on Thursday, April 10 in GW’s Science and Engineering Hall from 12-2pm. It will also be livestreamed. The panel will focus on Tracing the Legacy: Black Farmers and the Fight for Equity. A live streaming link will also be provided.

In this hands-on session, you’ll master two easy, delicious recipes - vegetable stock and Tuscan bean soup - while discovering practical ways to reduce food waste in your own kitchen. Whether you're a seasoned cook or just getting started, this workshop is for you!

Join CAPS groups this spring semester providing targeted support in areas such as relationship skills, identity exploration, trauma healing, and emotional well-being—resources that can directly enhance students’ academic success, personal growth, and overall resilience.
The groups offered include:
Healthy Relationships Group: A processing space to help students gain insight and tools to improve all types of relationships.
International Students Group: A safe and caring environment where international students can explore shared themes, process their emotions, and enhance their well-being.
UniQue Voices: Mental Health for the GW LGBTQ+ Community: A supportive therapy group providing a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ students to share experiences and explore their identities.

Sexual Assault Survivors Group: A support and healing space for femme/female-identifying individuals who have experienced sexual assault. This group offers a collaborative space to learn about trauma, process complex emotions, and integrate the experience into a healthier self.
Grief and Loss Support Group: A supportive therapy space where students can receive peer support from others who understand their experience, explore their emotions, and learn coping strategies to help them heal.
