Weekly Updates

by Brad Meier, President/CEO
HEALTHCARE
Dr. Brian Bunkers, MD, President/CEO of Mayo Health System - Owatonna and Faribault has provided a couple of updates:
  1. The Mayo Clinic drive up testing site went live at 10 am this morning so they now have capacity to do testing on a much broader scale locally. Location is at the north clinic parking lot where our staff park.  Patients cannot self-refer to be tested, they have to go through the phone triage line first.
  2. To get tested, patients MUST call the clinic number where those with COVID19 concerns will be routed to an internal nurse triage line.  From there, it will be determined if testing is needfed and they will be instructed on where to go for testing.
  3. We are now requiring scheduled appointments for all patient care activities on campus.
  4. Visitor restrictions have went into place today as well in an effort to limit risk and spread.
  5. Mayo is in the process of cancelling elective surgeries for the time being.
  6. Mayo is working closely with our school district partners to correctly identify health care workers who live in our community and will need to use school based child care during the school shut down.
