Franklin Ethics Commission votes for public hearing on Alderman Hanson’s email to BNA president

At a prehearing determination meeting Tuesday, the Franklin Ethics Commission voted to hold a public hearing on July 27 at noon over an email Alderman Gabrielle Hanson sent to Nashville International Airport President Doug Kreulen in early June.
The email reads that if the airport does not withdraw financial support from a Franklin Justice and Equity Coalition (FJEC) Juneteenth festival in Franklin that took place June 17, citizens are prepared to retaliate against the board's support of "radical agendas."

Bethlehem Fish Fry returns for 48th year with plenty of food, fun and fellowship

One of Williamson County’s longest running events, the Bethlehem United Methodist Church’s Fish Fry returns July 21 for its 48th year on the grounds of the Grassland church at 2419 Bethlehem Loop Road off Hillsboro Road.
BUMC Fish Fry Chairman Mike Loring said they are so happy to host neighbors for a good old-fashioned social with delicious, all-you-can-eat catfish, live music and a free children’s area — all helping support church missions.
“Sharing in this summertime fun is something we look forward to all year,” Loring said in a press release.

Williamson, Inc. Policy Talks covers Tennessee transportation trends, plans and challenges

The Williamson, Inc. hosted a Policy Talks discussion at Columbia State Community College's Williamson Campus on Friday covering “Trends in Tennessee Transportation: Past, Present, & Future."
Leading the discussion were first-time panelists Paul Degges, the recently retired deputy commissioner and chief engineer for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), and Kent Starwalt, executive vice president for the Tennessee Road Builders Association.

Franklin on the Fourth will be bustling on the square, later at Harlindale for fireworks

Thousands are expected to attend the upcoming Franklin on the Fourth celebration on the square happening during daylight Tuesday, July 4, then heading to the Park at Harlinsdale Farm for evening activities and nighttime fireworks display.
Sponsored by the Franklin Lions Club, festivities begin at 10 a.m. with music, food and craft vendors, antique cars, and much more. The event will also feature a children’s patriotic parade at 5 p.m., with line-up beginning at 4:45. To register for the parade, go to the Lions Club Booth on the square at the event.

Ross Chastain holds off Martin Truex Jr. to win at Nashville, 3rd NASCAR Cup Series victory

LEBANON (AP) — Ross Chastain has been criticized as reckless and too aggressive, a driver seen as giving no respect and not deserving any from competitors.
His hard-driving style paid off Sunday night as Chastain held off Martin Truex Jr. to win the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway, his first win in over a year and the third NASCAR Cup Series victory of his career.
Chastain said everyone has to deal with criticism. His approach? Just keep working.

Amy Bedore (Bremenkampf), of Franklin Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023. Her beautiful spirit is carried on by her husband Dan, children Samantha, Joey, and Allie, and the many friends and family members she loved so dearly.
Amy, born in Dearborn, Michigan on March 19, 1963, to Jackie and Warren Bremenkampf, was one of five children in her family. She grew up in Inkster, Michigan and enjoyed a childhood filled with neighborhood friends who played outside together until the streetlights came on, backyard pool parties, sleepovers, and camping trips up north to Petoskey State Park. Petoskey remained one of Amy’s favorite places throughout her entire life.
