UMSL makes another big jump in U.S. News ‘Best Colleges’ rankings, earning high marks for social mobility, value


UMSL has climbed a combined 69 places in the U.S. News & World Report “Best Colleges” rankings over the past three years. The university ranked No. 212 on the 2023 list and was first among Missouri universities and 75th nationally on the list of “Top Performers on Social Mobility.”

English alumna Christina Andrade Melly named 2023 Missouri Teacher of the Year

Christina Andrade Melly, an English and language arts teacher at Ritenour High School, was named the 2023 Missouri Teacher of the Year. Melly attended the Ritenour School District as a student and her experience compelled her to pursue a career in public education.

Join UMSL College of Education current and former students and community partners to hear research presentations from recent graduates of the UMSL COE Doctoral Programs. Hear from a former doctoral student sharing a remembrance about Dr. Davis, his work and legacy. Christine Corrigan Mendez and Monika McCurdy, who met at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, where they both received their master’s degrees in counseling, hope to engage and empower young readers through the project.
