In order to maintain compliance, security, and integrity of research data during this transition, you must tag your Research data in Box and Google Drive before the migration. ORE and ITS have outlined how researchers should tag their data.
OSP Grants Specialist Shannon Lovett to support all CAS departments Starting November 1, Grant Specialist Shannon Lovett will support proposal submission and award set-up for all CAS departments. Shannon knows CAS well, as she previously worked in the CAS Dean's Office before moving to OSP. CAS Pre-Award administrator Chad Fogleman will continue working with faculty to develop proposals and initiate Cayuse records, and Shannon will review proposals once they are routed to OSP.
NSF now requires SciENcv to produce biosketches and Current & Pending Support As of October 23, NSF requires all biosketches and Current & Pending Support documents to be produced in SciENcv. ... why we allocate "credit" among Key Personnel in Cayuse
One key section of the Cayuse internal processing form (IPF) is the "Investigators/Research Team." In this section, you add information about individual faculty members who are named on the grant proposal. In addition to their name, role, and person months of effort, you must also allocate "credit." The Cayuse SP user manual notes:
“Allocation of credit” demonstrates the contribution of the senior personnel for a specific project. “Allocation of credit” must equal 100% across all Key Personnel entered here. Otherwise, Sponsored Programs will allocate the credit equally across the lead principal investigator and co-investigators.
But what is the point of this "credit"? Contracts & Grants (CGA) uses the allocation of credit in the Cayuse IPF as the basis for distributing F&A (indirect costs) generated by a succesful grant. According to Contract & Grant Accounting Policy 8 Facilities & Administrative (F&A) Costs on Sponsored Awards, 10% of Overhead revenues from the project are returned to the PI and 10% to the PI's department. (The remaining F&A goes to fund other university activities.) If a PI allocates credit to other Key Personnel, those personnel / departments will receive a corresponding share of that portion of F&A.
