Celebrate the Class of 2021 at virtual commencement

We know how much commencement means to our entire community, and we are pleased to announce details on how we plan to recognize the accomplishments of the Class of 2021. Please join us at 8:30pm ET on Friday, May 14 for a virtual ceremony. Our commencement speakers will be world-renowned producers, directors and writers Anthony Russo, Joe Russo and Angela Russo-Otstot. CIA recently awarded Honorary Doctor of Art degrees to the Russos for the contributions to film, television and their native Cleveland. Find more information here.

Become a mentor for graduating students

Thank you to the alumni who signed up to be a mentor for CIA students, including the Class of 2021. Sign up today by joining our mentoring program on College Central. You’ll enable students to strategically reach out to you for guidance on getting started in their professional lives.  

Illustration students' Earth Day work up at CBG

Sixteen Earth Day-themed works by students taking the Illustration II course are now on view in the Cleveland Botanical Garden's café gallery through May 22. The Cleveland Botanical Garden café is open for viewing the works, and on May 1, it will reopen for food service.

Stream Cinematheque films from home

You can stream great films online—and support the Cinematheque in the process! Visit cia.edu/virtual to view films available for streaming. Use the links provided on each of the movies’ pages to ensure that a portion of your purchase goes to the Cinematheque.
Alumni News
Thomas Lyon Mills '78 completed voice-over work to accompany his work that is on view in the the Ricco/Maresca Gallery's viewing room. The voice-over work includes commentary on his work and readings of his poems.
David Csicsko '80 was recently featured in The Chicago Tribune
Judy Takács '86 will have digital prints of six of her paintings included in Artists on the Moon, a project that will send the work of 1,200 artists to the moon in a time capsule.
Georgio Sabino '09 is featured in I Identify As, part of Cleveland Photothon. The exhibition explores racial identity through portraiture and is on view at the Bostwick Design Art Initiative from May 1 through June 30.

  • Sawhorse Woodworks is seeking a full-time craftsperson. Ideal applicants will be knowledgeable in woodworking concept design/sketching and experienced with woodworking equipment. The candidate should be a self-starter who is able to work independently and with a team to bring projects to completion. Interested applicants can email a resume and portfolio.

  • Cuyahoga Arts & Culture and Neighborhood Connections are hosting Virtual Arts & Culture Network Night, a series of virtual events that connect artists, folks from arts organizations and other creative people from throughout the county for mutual support and possible collective action.   • Lovepop is seeking a graphic designer and illustrator for card design. The ideal candidate will have experience with the Adobe Creative Suite and have a degree in graphic design or illustration.
