Welcome to Tufts! We’re looking forward to meeting you in the fall. 
Whether you are currently receiving mental health care at home or are potentially exploring mental health resources when you arrive to campus, we want you to know what’s available through Tufts’ Counseling and Mental Health Service (CMHS). Make sure you also review Health and Wellness’s Resources for New Students if you haven't already, and contact us with questions.

Our Services

CMHS offers free counseling services to all students who have paid the student health fee

You’ll find our Scope of Care Statement there too, as well as our Off-Campus Referral Guide, which is a good place to begin if you think you may need services or supports beyond the scope of CMHS. You can also find information on our website about a new program called Set to Go, which guides students, families, and high school educators through the social, emotional, and mental health challenges related to the transition from high school to college and adulthood.

Resources and Reminders

To help make your transition to Tufts as smooth as possible, we recommend the following:
• If possible, get a 3-month supply of any prescriptionsyou are taking medication to cover your needs while looking for a local provider and/or pharmacy.
If you are currently working with a therapist, contact providers in the Medford/Somerville and Boston area over the summer.
Sign up for our CMHS Newsletter to learn about our Groups, Workshops, and events -- including Pause for Paws!
Explore the Office of Health Promotion and Prevent, which offers a range of trainings and resources related to alcohol and other drugs, nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and stess managerment, among others.
Visit the website for the Center for Awareness, Resources and Education (CARE). We encourage any student impacted by sexual misconduct to seek resources through CARE, or to contact the CARE office with questions or conerns related to sexual health or the University's Sexual Misconduct Policy or Process.
Again, welcome to Tufts. We’re excited to meet you in August, and we hope to see you at the Open House for CMHS on Matriculation Day for free ice cream, raffles, and more!
