Applications are now open for the Master Teacher Leadership Development Program (MTLDP) – a transformative experience designed for SMHS faculty who teach in basic science, clinical science, or health sciences.

CFE Spring 2026 Educational Technology Webinars
|
The CFE Spring 2026 Educational Technology Webinars are focused on instructional design principles and the effective integration of educational technology into teaching practices. These sessions would support faculty in developing engaging, learner-centered instructional strategies while introducing them to tools that can enhance interaction, collaboration, and content delivery when needed. They will be recorded and provided on the CFE website for faculty as resources. Each session includes templates, examples, and optional follow-up consultations.

Call for Papers: The Journal of Primary Care and Community Health |
A Special Collection on “The Assets, Herstories and Ingenuities that Advance Black Women’s Health" is published in the Journal of Primary Care and Community Health.
Published Special Collection papers enjoy the same high-quality standards, rigorous peer review, and indexing treatment as papers published in the general volume of the journal.
We are accepting manuscripts on a rolling basis until March 2026.

Teddy Hristov, the CFE Senior Instructional Designer, holds weekly office hours to support faculty. These office hours are designated for discussing and practicing the best use of educational technology and pedagogical teaching and learning methods. Do not hesitate to contact her if you have questions about completing a session design worksheet.

Peer Assessements of Teaching & CFE Consultations
|
The CFE offers peer assessments of teaching to all regular-status, full-time faculty in SMHS. This program is designed to enhance faculty teaching skills in the classroom, in conferences and small groups, or in clinical teaching at the bedside, and assessments can also be included in teaching portfolios used in the academic promotion process. Peer reviews are conducted by Master Teacher graduate volunteers and are confidential. Faculty interested in a peer review or other consultations should complete the form below.

Fundamentals of Understanding Synthesis and Evidence (FUSE) - Workshop on Knowledge Synthesis
Date: April 13-16, 2026
Location: Kaiser Permanente Bernard J Tyson, School of Medicine
Registration includes all materials, breakfasts, lunches, coffee breaks, and one course dinner.
Registration is limited to 24 participants to ensure hands-on time with expert faculty.

This year, the NEGEA will offer up to $1,500 in unrestricted funds to support innovations through SPARK Awards. This new opportunity is open to scholars across the region.

Peer Review for Health Professions Education (HPE) Grants
The Academy of Educators offers a peer grant review consultation service for SMHS faculty preparing health professions education (HPE) grants. This service provides targeted feedback on regional and national grants, along with an optional follow-up consultation. Faculty must submit their request at least 6 weeks before the grant submission deadline.
