Message from the President

We are excited to kick off the 2019–2020 year with the theme Champions for Change!
We can think about this in two ways—first is championing each other—supporting and mentoring fellow women in the workplace, and providing outstanding professional development, networking, and engagement opportunities focused on women and issues specific to working women.
The second is reaching out across campus to engage male allies in Thrive’s mission to increase opportunities for women to be recruited, retained, and advanced as leaders at the University of Notre Dame.
I welcome your suggestions for programming or any other ideas you have to contribute to the Champions for Change effort and to Thrive! more generally. So please, reach out to me or any one of the other board members or committee chairs at any time.
Thank you so much to all of our officers, chairs, committee members, and ambassadors for your willingness to dedicate some of your time and energy to Thrive! As a working mom myself, I know time and energy are precious commodities, and I am so grateful to each and every one of you. I'm thrilled to be partnering with all of you in the coming year!

Yours in Notre Dame,
Kate Garry, Thrive! President

Thrive! Mentoring Program

Mentoring is an important part of our mission to increase opportunities for women to be recruited, retained, and advanced as leaders at the University of Notre Dame.
Since its inception, Thrive! has been working diligently with HR to research and test various platforms in search of a solution that can ultimately support a robust campus-wide mentoring program. While Thrive! participants found value in the mentoring relationships developed through our 2017 and 2018 pilot programs, we discovered that the platform that we were using was not meeting our needs.
For our third pilot, we recently contracted with People Grove to build a mentoring portal similar to Irish Compass, the web-based professional community for Notre Dame students and alumni. Stay tuned for more information about this next phase, which will be available exclusively to Thrive! members.

Do you ever feel the pressure to prove yourself? Or to "figure it all out" as you're waiting in seasons that seem like the awkward in-between? Does it ever feel seem that you're the only one with "unfigured-out dreams"?

In this book, Jordan provides practical tools as she shows you how to:
tackle limitations like disappointment, perfectionism, comparison, distraction, and more; overcome the lie that you can't live your purpose until or unless you reach a certain goal, milestone, etc.; remove labels and break out of the box of expectations; identify and eliminate excuses, insecurity, and unnecessary stress about an unknown future.
