The Future Workforce: Cyborgs and Centaurs
| |
Schulich alumni participated in a thought-provoking professional development workshop with facilitator Shane Saunderson, Instructor, SEEC on September 22. The presentation explored the future of technology integration within organizations and the consequential evolution of our roles within the workplace. Attendees appreciated the opportunity to rethink the potential of human-machine collaboration and the business and work opportunities created by combining the creativity of the human mind with the precision and brute force of a machine. Will robots take over the world? According to Shane, only when we tell them to.

Employee Engagement: Practices to consider as we continue the COVID marathon
Earlier this year, the Hayes 2021 Salary Guide reported that 52 per cent of Ontario workers were considering leaving their current employers and somewhere close to 25 per cent were ready to pull the plug on their current positions within a few months.
The intent to leave seems to be building. The dilemma for many organizations is that “intent to leave” builds quietly then cascades into action as the job market or external conditions change. People may hesitate to undertake the huge shift of changing their employment, but will they hesitate to leave when increased vaccination rates re-open the job market?
Learn some ways that leaders can help people find positive answers to these key elements of engagement through simple, yet intentional practices.
