Graham Ignoffo Brings Respectful Service to Customers and Co-Workers
Graham Ignoffo (he/him), with the Port of Portland, was nominated by two different PDX employees.
1. "I was dealing with some issues outside of work, and Graham was so caring and concerned. He even shared his own personal experience, which helped me make some decisions. Graham has always provided an authentic space where I can be myself – that has meant so much to me. I so appreciate him."
2. "A mother and her 11-year-old daughter – who uses a wheelchair – had just arrived at PDX. As the ADA coordinator, she called me looking for an adult changing table. We don’t have one (yet), so I offered her the family restroom or lactation room, but she didn’t want to place her daughter on the floor, and understandably, she wouldn’t be able to lift her back up if she did. She stated, 'This is unacceptable.'
I quickly started looking for solutions and was reminded that we have cots in our Emergency Operations Center. Next, I called Graham to see if he was working and if he could help. Luckily, he was and, no surprise, he was very willing to assist! I arranged for the traveler and her daughter to contact Graham, and he would have a cot ready for them. They called, and he came running. A successful makeshift adult changing table was set up in the family restroom. The guests were incredibly grateful for our service."

PDX is Its Own City, and It Takes Nearly 10,000 People to Run It
Covering more than 3,000 acres, PDX is its own bustling city with roads and neighborhoods, shops and services, and nearly 10,000 people who bring it all to life. Imagine almost any job, and you can find someone doing it: from shuttle bus drivers to electricians, landscapers to baggage handlers. Beyond what travelers see every visit, there’s more – firefighters ready to roll, engineers sketching the future, road crews keeping paths smooth, and caretakers tending to our indoor forest. Together, you move nearly 18 million travelers a year and make PDX feel…unmistakably PDX.

HMSHost Gives Back
HMSHost, one of the concessions that participates in our PDX food donation program, just expanded their commitment to the community. Through their Journey For Good Foundation, HMSHost recently awarded a $15,000 grant to Urban Gleaners, the nonprofit that collects unsold, ready-to-eat food from PDX concessions. This generous support will help Urban Gleaners expand their work of getting fresh, prepared meals to neighbors across the Portland area who need them most. Thank you HMSHost and thank you to all the concessions that participate in the food donation program.

Eat Green at Bambuza
This just in: The Green Plate program is coming back to PDX!
But before we jump back into the full "dine-in with real plates and utensils" experience, we're doing a test run at Bambuza on Concourse C.
- Place your order. Employees will ask if you’d like to ‘dine-in.’
- Enjoy your food.
- Drop off your dirty dishes. Look for bus tubs by the trash and recycling stations and leave food waste on the dishes – we’ll take care of composting. Relay Resources will monitor the carts, clean the dishes, and return them to the kitchen.
- Share your thoughts. If you have feedback that could make the program better, send it to lesswaste@portofportland.com.
Once the test run is complete, look for the Green Plate program to officially start on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Bambuza and MOD Pizza. More details coming soon!

Three Oregon Indigenous Artists Chosen to Create Public Art at PDX
In collaboration with the Regional Arts & Culture Council, Oregon Indigenous artists Travis Stewart, Marie Watt, and Lillian Pitt – with team members Juno Lachman and Ben Dye – have been chosen to create a large-scale sculpture for the entry of PDX, anticipated to be installed in spring 2026. The three new signature sculptures will be installed in three distinct sites within the remodeled entry hall and will be experienced as a welcome to and first impression of the airport. Inside, passengers will be able to circulate around the sculptures and use them as wayfinding or meeting points. Read the press release to learn more about the artists and their vision.
