Dear Writer:
It seems weekends roll around so quickly these days, which is great news for us and you! Tomorrow is already Friday, which means you might as well stop working right now and start soaking up all the literary goodness coming your way.
Inside the Writer’s Studio will be at the Mizel Arts and Culture Center (350 S. Dahlia Street). Doors open at 4:00 PM and the interview and reading will begin at 5:00 PM, facilitated by Nick Arvin.
Every artist has a story—Making the Mountain is your chance to hear it. Join us tomorrow, Friday, September 19, to hear Victoria Eastburn (Clyfford Still Museum), Kaitlin Skilken (Vert Kitchen), and Ryan Warner (Colorado Matters) speak about their experiences in arts careers.
The next Willfully Submit will be on Saturday, September 27, 10:30 AM to Noon. Writers of short prose and poetry are welcome to come get down to the business of submitting.
Added bonus: For anyone who wants to stick around, Mark Springer will join us from noon to 2:00 PM for a free tutorial on Scrivener, the word-processor and project management tool for writers. Come to either or both events!
Join Alice Maxine Bowie Fellow Kimberly O'Connor for a free workshop—I Want to Be a Writer, But—on Saturday, October 4, from 3:30 to 6:00 PM. For would-be writers of all stripes. We'll talk about the many things that stop us from writing--like lack of time, lack of inspiration, too many commitments, and plain old avoidance--and brainstorm ways to conquer these obstacles. We'll also write--a lot.
Then after the workshop, join us for the Writer’s Buzz at 6:00 PM for a reading by Kimberly O’Connor and presentation of her work as the Alice Maxine Bowie Fellow.
Everybody's working for the weekend,
The Lighthouse Party Planners
