ONE-STOP TIL YOU DROP

Over 550 households participated in the One-Stop Drop on June 20th at the Academy of World Languages! Together we were able to divert TONS of waste from the landfill including; #5 plastics, pill bottles, styrofoam, planters, dental products, and more!
Special thanks to everyone who dropped off items, the volunteers, Cincinnati Recycles, Academy of World Languages, Cleanlites Recycling, Inc., City Of Cincinnati Government Office of Environment and Sustainability, Rhinegeist, Kroger, The Home Depot, and Eco-Development.

Due to the overwhelming amount of recyclables received, we, unfortunately, had to turn people away at the end of the event. The good news is another event is already being organized for the fall! In the meantime, if you have recyclables on hand that you want to clear out please check out Hamilton County Recycling’s website, which has a comprehensive materials search database to let you know where you can safely recycle or dispose of waste.

 PROGRAMS & RESOURCES
GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP

We had a BEAUTIFUL morning earlier this month hosting our first volunteer event since being impacted by the Covid-19 Pandemic! Thanks to the volunteers for picking up trash and pulling weeds along Duck Creek in Evanston. The community orchard and prairie are looking fabulous!
We will be hosting more small volunteer groups and supporting community cleanups all summer.
ARTS
Our Arts team has been hard at work painting windows and doors around Cincinnati, and we've even had a few community members come help out!
In July, we will begin collaboration on a series of murals called New Lines to celebrate diversity. Together with Artwork's youth apprentices and teaching artists, we will complete murals in the alleyways of OTR and Pendelton. Each of the murals is designed by female Cincinnati artists, including our very own Claire Bryson and Katie Davis!
Stay tuned for photo updates and keep an eye out for some new artwork when you’re out in July!
GREENSPACE
In June we installed interactive game tables and seating at a formerly vacant lot in Evanston along  Montgomery Road.
The site was selected by the community for a Vacant Lots Occupied intervention. Community members, students, volunteers, and landscape professionals came together to design and build the new pocket park. Now neighbors will now be able to enjoy outdoor seating, entertainment, a new tree canopy, and a pollinator flower garden bed.
EDUCATION
Our education team has been creating videos to help Grow Green Habits. CHECK OUT our latest video and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE.
