What is Homeownership Capacity?
In 2014, Minnesota Housing released the Homeownership Capacity program in an effort to address Minnesota’s homeownership disparity between households of color and Hispanic ethnicity and white/non-Hispanic households.
The goal of the program is to increase successful homeownership and household stability through intensive financial empowerment and homeowner training. We collaborate with organizations that work closely with low-income renters and households of color and help them reach their goal of homeownership.
How Can I Learn About Funding Opportunities?
Minnesota Housing will commit an estimated $750,000 through a competitive application process this spring. In advance of the application release in late March, Minnesota Housing is offering one-on-one meetings (in person at our office in St. Paul or by phone) for potential applicants to learn more about this funding opportunity. Meeting dates and times are available March 6-24.
- Your name, the organization you work for, your role and phone number
- Two to three dates and times that you are available to meet
- If you prefer to meet in person or by phone
- A list of questions that you’d like to discuss during your meeting
In advance of the meeting, we recommend that you review the Program Concept.
