Insights From Enrich

Since we launched the Enrich financial wellness platform in August 2023, over 2,300 WashU employees have visited the site. The goal for this resource is to help you assess your financial well-being and learn effective strategies to achieve your goals. Here are some interesting insights about the information WashU employees are learning*:

Have you checked out the Enrich platform? Take some time in February to learn something new and expand your financial literacy! Share your experience with your co-workers and encourage them to log in and explore, too.

Request an Enrich demo for your next team meeting! If you can give us at least 15 minutes, the HR team can provide a brief overview and demonstration of the Enrich platform.

Free piggy banks are available as door prizes for in-person gatherings!

*WashU does not have access to any individual user information in Enrich. Reports are only provided in aggregate.

CHAMPION SPOTLIGHT

Champion Spotlight

Janelle Donjon, one of the WashU Wellness Champions in Medical Oncology, hosted two health screenings in the Center for Advanced Medicine for her work group. Janelle worked with Emily Strong, one of our Wellness Coordinators, to secure a space and coordinate a time that worked best for the employees.

Janelle did a great job of bringing a health screening to a location that had limited space. Additionally, Janelle hosted two screenings on different days to ensure that the most people in her department would be able to have an opportunity to attend a health screening even if they didn't work at that location every day. Because of Janelle's initiative, employees who were not able to attend the general health screening sessions, were able to learn about their biometric numbers and the well-being resources available to them.

If you are interested in hosting a health screening for your work group, please reach out to Caralee Lynch

HR WELL-BEING TEAM SPOTLIGHT

Meet Bridgette Sims BSN, RN: United health care nurse advocate

What are some of your favorite ways to cultivate well-being in your life?
One of my favorite ways to cultivate well-being is by participating in group fitness classes. I enjoy exercising in group fitness classes at my gym because the participants encourage and support one another in reaching our wellness goals. I feel good about being physically active with people that have become good friends!

Additionally, I intentionally carve out time for periods of quiet and solitude throughout the week. I use this time to read, pray, meditate and to "tune-in" to my inner thoughts and feelings. I find that after I do this, I am refreshed mentally and I'm able to tackle tasks with greater ease.

I also enjoy watching feel-good movies or comedies, as a way to relax. Laughter really is good for the soul!

Lastly, I intentionally make time to connect with family and friends. We connect via phone calls, by sharing meals and by participating in activities and projects together. Even if we meet virtually, we can still provide support and care for one another. It makes me feel good to support others and I am open to receive support and love for my own well-being!

Thank you,

HR Well-being is an employee health initiative that, in partnership with Washington University experts, offers opportunities for employees to improve their physical and emotional well-being. This initiative focuses on developing evidence-based programs and making personal connections to provide employees with valuable and fun experiences that improve their health. We aim to foster a culture that prioritizes employee health and well-being as integral to the mission of teaching, research, and patient care, and create an environment where the healthier choice is the easiest choice; where employees are empowered to choose wellness.
WashU Wellness Champions help us understand the needs within different work environments, promote the importance of personal health, and encourage their coworkers to engage in wellness program offerings.
