Chosen from among more than 200 schools, The University of Texas at Arlington was one of 50 schools selected to participate in The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) national initiative. The Leading Across Multidimensional Perspectives (LAMP) Culture and Climate Survey is intended to aid inclusive learning environments and build a more diverse nursing workforce.
The AACN is the national association for nursing education that represents more than 850 schools of nursing. Its mission is to establish quality standards for nursing education, influence the advancement of the profession, and promote support for education, research, and practice.

The University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) has been ranked as one of the top 10 online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs in the country. According to FORTUNE, in their newly released rankings for Best Online MSN Programs in 2022, CONHI ranked no. 8 overall. CONHI is also the largest public college of nursing in the country, and fifth among public and private universities.

The University of Texas at Arlington Athletic Training program stood out amongst the crowd at the recent Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association (SWATA) Annual Meeting. Meredith Decker, Master of Science in athletic training (MSAT) coordinator of clinical education in Kinesiology, was named the recipient of the James Dodson New Horizon Award. While Roy Rudewick, preceptor for the MSAT program and senior associate athletic director for sports medicine at UTA, was inducted into the SWATA Hall of Fame and four UTA students won the SWATA Scholarship. These accomplishments highlight the excellence of UTA’s faculty and students in athletic training.

150 backpacks, each one full of the pencils, crayons, notebooks, and folders students in Houston need to start their school year off on the right foot. It was a huge undertaking, led by recent UT Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation graduate Keisha Holland, with supplies being donated to the Women’s Home.

Chueh-Lung Hwang, assistant professor, Sungyong Jung, associate professor, Hyusim Park, postdoctoral researcher, & Zhaoli Liu, assistant professor, received a UTA Interdisciplinary Research Program (IRP) Grant from the Office of the Vice President for Research for their project Novel urinary sensing system for enhancing alcohol use monitoring and early detection of alcohol-related health effects. A UTA faculty member is being called a hero, WFAA and Fox 4 report. Katherine Kreis, clinical assistant professor of nursing, was serving jury duty when another potential juror started having a seizure. She stepped in to stabilize the man and save him from injury. A group of Dallas County judges honored her for her actions.
