| RVA Men Teach Conference – The RVA Men Teach Conference is TOMORROW, April 15, starting 8:30 am, at Huguenot High School. If you're unable to make it, you can watch the livestream of the panel discussions featuring community leaders, educators, and elected officials, including Mayor Levar Stoney. - Huge shout-out to AP Ms. Ray at Ginter Park ES. Daily she #leadswithlove by going above and beyond for our students and staff. Her positive, upbeat energy is exactly what is needed to keep staff and students motivated throughout the day. We are so very lucky to have such a fantastic assistant principal at GP! Thank you, Ms. Ray, as you are greatly appreciated!
- Shouting Happy AP Week to LaToya Graham and Jennifer Smith from Miles Jones ES! You are rocking it! We appreciate the love and smiles you show our students throughout each day! Thanks for all you do!
- Shout-out to my yellow hallway team – Kelly DuBose, Sue DeBruycker, Ernestine Mills, Iesha White, Rochelle Silas, and Gail Hicks for being team players!
- Shout-out to Adrienne Lundell for her scheduling flexibility, patience, and support with graphic design skills!
- Miles Jones faculty and staff, you all are simply the best! When we are in a crunch, I love how everyone pulls together to ensure that our students are in the forefront of minds and top priority! You all are appreciated more than you know!
- I would like to let Mrs. Henderson know that she is valued and appreciated. She is truly a gem to Fairfield Court. You have always been a great asset to us! Keep doing awesome things.
- On April 13, several schools participated in our district-wide Unified Big Feet Meet held at Huguenot High School. The level of participation and teamwork displayed was phenomenal! A big thank you goes to everyone who helped make this event a success. To the Huguenot students, staff, and admin, we thank you for your continued support all year. Also, thanks to the Exceptional Education Department and Dr. Rossi Volley for organizing her team of helpers. And to every school that was represented, River City Middle School, Lucille Brown, Boushall Middle, Albert Hill, Binford, George Wythe, Armstrong, Huguenot, John Marshall, Richmond Virtual Academy, we could not do this without you!!! Thanks for keeping your school and our district inclusive!!!!
- Kudos to the Richmond Technical Center (RTC) teachers, CTSO student ambassadors, and staff for their hard work, dedication, and leadership with engaging lessons and hands-on activities during the CTE middle school tours!
- Shout-out to the CTE/RTC planning committee and building leadership for an outstanding job with our recent 8th grade middle school tours at the Richmond Technical Center: Mr. Mitchum, Ms. Smith, Mrs. Taylor, Mr. Alexander, Dr. Turner, and Dr. Spurlock!
- Shout-out to the middle school CTE teachers and administrators who were able to participate in our inaugural "Exploring Career Pathways at the Tech" initiative! In the midst of testing, you were able to make the field trip happen. You are appreciated, Boushall, Albert Hill, Martin Luther King, Jr., River City, Lucille M. Brown, and Henderson!
- I would like to shout-out Mr. Rashad Rodgers, school counselor at Blackwell ES, for having his First Annual Dads and Donuts this morning. It was a beautiful thing to see all of the fathers and father figures there! Nutzy from the Flying Squirrels was also there to show his support. Kudos to Mr. Rodgers and all of the staff at Blackwell ES who made this morning possible! Well done!

| - Congratulations to Swansboro Elementary attendance & academics raffle winners, the Roads Family & the Thompson Family! Both students received bicycles, and their parents received smart TVs. Parents, please ensure your students are active and present each day to be eligible for our next raffle.

| Early Commitment Bonuses – We're now offering bonuses of up to $12,000 for new hires who sign their commitment letters by Monday, May 1. If you know of a great teacher who might like to join the RPS team, please tell them to apply now!

| 2023-24 Preschool & Kindergarten Enrollment – Preschool and kindergarten enrollment is underway! We offer preschool for eligible 3 and 4-year olds, and kindergarten for all 5-year-olds living in Richmond. If your student is currently enrolled at an RPS preschool, they will still need to register for kindergarten. For more information, please email enrollrps@rvaschools.net.
