New Award Recognizes Preceptors - Nominations Close June 10
CONHI's Department of Graduate Nursing has launched a new awards program aimed at recognizing and honoring the nursing preceptors that offer their voluntary services to deliver high-quality educational experiences for students. The new award, “UTA Graduate Preceptor of the Year” will recognize a preceptor of the year in each graduate nursing track that includes precepted clinical experiences (AGACNP, AGPCNP, FNP, NNP, PACNP, PPCNP, PMHNP, MSN education).

The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) chapter at The University of Texas at Arlington inducted more than 35 members at its inaugural annual luncheon. Among the inductees were representatives from the University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute, College of Engineering, College of Science, College of Education and College of Nursing and Health Innovation.

DNP Graduates and Faculty Soar at Leadership Conference
“It was an honor and privilege for Dr. Tammy Eades and I to present DNP posters with recent doctoral graduates Dr. Margaret Badejo and Dr. Nancy Wyrick at the 2022 American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL) Conference,” shared Cynthia Plonien, clinical associate professor and director of UTA College of Nursing and Health Innovation’s doctorate program of nursing practice.

| Understanding Stress and Well-Being of Nursing Students
“This research partnership helps to contribute to what is known about stress, self-care, and well-being in pre-licensure nursing students,” shared Regina Urban, assistant professor in undergraduate nursing in UTA’s College of Nursing and Health Innovation. Dr. Urban and her research colleagues at Texas Woman’s University, Texas Christian University, and Texas Health Resources recently had their article “Health-Related Behaviors, Self-Rated Health, and Predictors of Stress and Well-Being in Nursing Students” published in the Journal of Professional Nursing.

Mari Tietze was invited to co-present at UTA’s Center for Research on Teaching and Learning Excellence (CRTLE) Annual Showcase. Dr. Tietze's project, “Flipping” the Teaching of Data Analysis to Achieve Social Determinants of Health-Driven Equity, was the outcome of her work with the Center for Service Learning.
