Narcanยฎ Access in Clay County Expands |
|
|
Thanks to funding designated by the Clay County Opioid Settlement Task Force, the health center was able to purchase additional naloxone distribution boxes. These boxes offer community members the opportunity to easily pick up a potentially life-saving tool.
In addition to the three existing boxes - located at Clay County Public Health Center, Birmingham Fire Department, and Good Samaritan Center of Excelsior Springs - some of the new boxes have recently found their new homes.

Thanks to all the partners that made these placements possible!
Naloxone (Narcan) is a medication that can reverse an overdose from opioids when given in time. It can be helpful for anyone to have access to because anyone can overdose. This includes grandpa getting confused about which meds he was supposed to take, a teen taking a pill for more energy not knowing it was tampered with, an adult who was prescribed pain medication after an injury, a child who found and ingested pills, and more. Be prepared for any scenario!

| The health center still has immunization appointments available in August BUT this could change quickly as the first day of school approaches. Call 816-595-4355 to make your child's appointment today!
Need more flexible options? When you call, ask about extended hours. There may be options available before 8 a.m., after 5 p.m., and during lunch hours.
Remember, only children going into kindergarten, 8th grade, and 12th grade need certain immunizations before they will be allowed to start the school year.
