The 2026 Winter Involvement Fair is this Thursday, 29 January: join us between 11-2 in SCE Illinois Room! LCLC Staff and LCSL volunteers will publicize all LCSL programs: there are still open spots, so sign up here. We will hand out buttons and flyers to encourage students to get involved.
This semester, 30 Language Learning Assistants (LLAs) are supporting 34 BLP classes in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. So 700 undergrads from LAS and other colleges are getting extra expertise and encouragement. Thanks to all the LLAs and their mentor teachers!
Events in 308 Grant Hall are underway! Weekly language events for Arabic, French, Japanese, and Spanish have started already; Chinese, Polish, English, German, Italian, and Russian begin next week. We’ve already had our first Special Event of the year too, a Spanish film screening organized by the ALPFA UIC chapter.
