Student Leadership & Involvement, Student Activities Council, UofM Alumni Association and Tiger Athletics invite you to participate in Homecoming 2022 taking place October 31 - November 5, 2022 with a special Kickoff on Sunday, October 30. The week will consist of competitions, special events, and exclusive giveaways. The annual Homecoming Concert, Bluff City Bash will take place November 3, 2022 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. Building Strong Brains: Tennessee ACEs Initiative is a major statewide effort to establish Tennessee as a national model for how a state can promote culture change in early childhood based on a philosophy that preventing and mitigating adverse childhood experiences, and their impact, is the most promising approach to helping Tennessee children lead productive, healthy lives and ensure the future prosperity of the state.

Diwali: Festival of Lights. In India, one of the most significant festivals is Diwali, or the Festival of Lights. It's a five-day celebration that includes good food, fireworks, colored sand, and special candles and lamps. Hindus interpret the Diwali story based upon where they live.

The University of Memphis Wind Ensemble's opening concert, Cityscapes, will feature the Coalescent Saxophone Quartet on Michael Colgrass’s Urban Requiem. Also on the program will be pieces that reflect the mood and feel of our major US cities. Formed in 2016, the Coalescent Quartet explores the diverse saxophone quartet repertoire from traditional to contemporary works, and features UofM's Dr. Michael Shults, Assistant Professor of Saxophone More about the Coalsecent Quartet Formed in 2016, the Coalescent Quartet explores the diverse saxophone quartet repertoire from traditional to contemporary works. Its members Nathan Bogert, Michael Shults, Nick Zoulek, and Drew Whiting bring together years of combined chamber music experience and disparate pedagogical backgrounds to present sensitive, exciting, and distinctive performances. In addition to being active performers, the Coalescent Quartet are dynamic educators. Its members have taught at Ball State University, Silver Lake College, the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, the University of Memphis, and Oakland University. Collectively, the quartet has presented master-classes across the country, including at Kent State University and the Ohio State University. As champions of new saxophone quartet repertoire, in its short lifespan the quartet has commissioned composers such as Ted King-Smith and Martin Bresnick, and arranged music by Evan Ziporyn for saxophone. $20 - General Admission $0 - Students, faculty and staff with UofM ID.

Using two recipes from Memphis-born chef Bryant Terry’s book Vegan Soul Kitchen, we’re going to build bowls full of delicious cheesy grits with a little smoky chicken and what might be the best quick greens ever made. Learn about balancing and adding flavor, a few knife skills (always) and how to love greens yet another way. Our meal includes chicken and is gluten free. It's ALIVE! Join us for a frightfully good time at this year's Scheidt at the Shell: Frankenstein in Concert. The University of Memphis Wind Ensemble will play 1931 classic movie score as the film plays on giant screens in high-definition. So grab your picnic baskets, chairs and spookiest costumes and join us for this free concert at historic Overton Shell. Come early for our costume contest and Monster Mash dance party! The competition is stiff (get it!), so make sure to go all out for the costume contest! Judging starts at 6 PM, with awards going to the best overall costume in the kid and adult divisions. Movie + music start at 6:30 PM with a 1.5 hour run time.
