UP Parent Newsletter: September 2018
This month marks the exciting launch of our parent newsletter! We will cover a variety of helpful topics throughout the year and provide a window into your student’s life at UP. The Office of Alumni & Parent Relations serves as a resource for YOU by fostering an engaged community of parents and families, even long after students earn their degrees.
Thank you for your partnership, and we hope that this newsletter is useful and interesting for you!
Sincerely,

A Window into Campus Life

It’s been a busy few weeks on campus! Among many other activities, students kicked off the semester by cheering at soccer games, attending the Riverboat party, and discovering ways to participate in extracurriculars at the Activities Fair! Making Time for Time Management

Each new semester holds exciting opportunities for students to get involved, but various commitments can be a lot to juggle. Brother Thomas Giumenta, C.S.C., Learning Assistance Counselor in the Shepard Center, shares some tips and tools for how your student can manage a balanced schedule to find health and success. CollegiateParent also offers some practical tips. If your student could use support in this area, they can contact Br. Thomas.

First Year Focus

Roommate living can be one of the biggest adjustments for a new student. Drawing upon many years of professional and personal experience, Tyler Hale, Associate Director for Residence Life at UP, shares how parents can help their students navigate the world of community living. Send a Finals Week Survival Kit

Help your student get through finals week by ordering a Survival Kit containing a variety of snacks and fun UP swag! Our Student Alumni Association will be accepting orders until Friday, November 2, or while kits are available. We sell out every semester, so place your order early.
