Students are eager to interrogate with educators how AI is impacting their learning and future careers. Join us to hear from a panel of GW students across disciplines and years about their perspectives on AI and their education. We will share national data on students' AI use, provide opportunities for our student panel to respond, and invite audience questions.

Lecture Capture: Instructors can use the Echo360 lecture capture tool to record classroom lectures and make them available to students on Blackboard. 

Blackboard Ultra: Ultra is a new Blackboard course experience. It offers a modern, intuitive, accessible, and mobile-friendly interface with improved workflows and new features.

In his recent article, “If You Care About It, Do It In Class,” James Lang urges us to shift class time toward the active practice of the skills we value most, like reading, writing, problem-solving, and critical thinking. We recommend this read for any instructor looking to reclaim class time for the work that matters to their discipline and provide a human-centered alternative to the growing reliance on GenAI.

“How to Spur Discussion Through Collaborative Note-taking” details how a professor at Loyola Marymount University transformed class discussions by rotating which students took notes, allowing the rest of the class to engage in low-tech/no-tech discussions. If you've considered a low-tech/no-tech classroom but are worried about student pushback or DSS accommodations, this approach is worth considering.
