- Reflection by Shawn Juers
1 Thessalonians 4: 1-12
The birth of a baby – holding that newborn for the first time – there’s just nothing like it. All else fades away. The heart fills with a love so great, that no words can express. And being in that room, where that new baby is, there is an ambiance in that room that’s hard to explain too. It’s a real special thing – an ambiance of love and peace that is practically palpable.
God loves us, each and every one, as a newborn child. More than any description can properly express. And in today’s text, I find the message clear.
May we drop the unneeded distractions in our arms, and prepare to hold baby Jesus. We are urged to hold baby Jesus. And we are urged to see Christ in each and every one of us. More love, beloved, more love. Newborn babies in our arms love.
Dear God:
We thank you, God, for Your never-let-go love. Prepare our hearts and minds to receive Jesus Christ, Your son and our redeemer. May the Peace of baby Jesus fill our world, and our hearts overflow with love.
In Christ’s name we pray,
Amen.
