Welcome back! 

It's been 156 days (and counting) and we missed you! We've been hard at work planning programs, services, and events that promote student well-being, inspire a sense of community, and encourage student development and learning... wherever you happen to start the fall semester.  
Our program area plans for Fall 2020 are now available! Learn what we're doing for Fitness & Wellness, Outdoor Adventures, and Sports Programs. Since we're keeping health and safety in mind, please know that our current plans may change as the semester evolves. We're in this together, and we can't wait to connect with you soon!

WHAT'S NEW? 

Fitness

  • The Group Exercise schedule will launch on Mon, Aug 24, so stay tuned! 
  • Small Group Training is back with 3 class offerings - Fitness Fundamentals, Strength in the Sun, and Women on Weights! 
  • Our Personal Training offerings now feature "Buddy Training" - work out with a friend to stay motivated!
  • UFit is online (and FREE for students)! Join for a personalized exercise program in a simple format that you can access from your phone.
  • For Rec Center reopening plans and updated policies, visit Athletic & Rec Facilities.

  • Reach out to other people in your online classes to form virtual (or physically distanced in-person) study groups! It's a great way to stay connected with others while having support for your online learning. 
  • With all that's going on, it can be easy to forget what you'll need to stay healthy while at school. Luckily, we have convenient guides for you to make sure you're prepared!

#GVLakerStrong
Virtual 5K

  • September 18-20, 2020
  • Open to anyone! 
  • Registration is open until Sept 17, but
    early-bird pricing ends Sept 4! 
    Register by Sept 11 for a t-shirt. 
  • Includes a 6-week training program, along with some race & recovery tips.
  • Walk, jog, or run your favorite 3.1 mile route between Sept 18-20! Once you’ve finished, submit your results to have your finisher medal sent to you.

Daily Activity Challenge

  • September 8 - October 23, 2020
  • Open to students, faculty, and staff. 
  • Registration is open until Sept 25! 
  • GVSU students, faculty, and staff who register for the #GVLakerStrong Virtual 5K receive 50% off this challenge, too!  
  • Includes leaderboard for extra motivation and access to online dashboard that allows you to track how long and how often you exercise.
