Dear Student Affairs colleagues,
I hope you were able to stay warm through last week’s storm. Thank you for coming together once again to keep things running smoothly and safely through the weekend—despite record snow and cold.
As we continue building momentum this semester, there is so much to look forward to in the weeks ahead. I would like to highlight a few things that can support you and also advance our work:

First, I am excited to share that Carla Suber from the Chicago Bears and Rory James from the Saint Louis Zoo will be speaking at an exclusive event for division staff on February 12. Learn how your experience as a student affairs professional can translate to high impact careers beyond higher ed. Space is limited so register soon.
- Be sure to take advantage of the complimentary employee membership to Sumers Rec through March 6. This is a great way to jumpstart your health and well-being this year!

The Spring 2026 Career Expo is February 10 from 3-6 p.m. in the Athletic Complex. Encourage students to attend and network with top employers and professional organizations. Remind them to sign up for prep sessions that start this week!

The Spring 2026 Career Expo is on Feb. 10 from 3-6 p.m. in the Athletic Complex. This premier recruiting event is open to all schools, majors, class levels, alumni, and undergraduate, graduate, PhD, Post Doc and MBA students.

Join this five-week, complimentary membership program designed to encourage health and wellness among WashU faculty and staff. All WashU employees who do not currently hold memberships are invited to experience Sumers Recreation Center and South 40 Fitness Center at no cost through March 6.

Nominate an undergraduate student to be a First-Year or Transfer WashU Student Associate (WUSA) until Feb. 18. The is a paid student leadership position and nominations can remain anonymous. Nominated students are notified upon nomination submission with an encouragement to apply for the role.

Green Dot training offered Feb. 12 |
A Green Dot session on active bystander skills will be held on Feb. 12. from noon until 1:30 p.m. in DUC 248. The program will explore practical ways to recognize and respond to situations where harm—particularly power‑based personal violence—may occur. Lunch will be served. Registration required.
The Green Dot team is also expanding. Those interested in becoming facilitators can contact Mary Reid. The RSVP Center will sponsor the Train the Trainer program June 23–24 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Civic Action Weeks are slated for Feb. 16-27, and students, faculty and staff across WashU will host a variety of programming that highlights the issues they care about, creating space for learning, conversation and meaningful civic engagement. All events are open to the WashU community.

Get ready for the Spring Career Expo by attending a prep session led by professional career coaches. The Spring Career Expo is Feb. 10 from 3-6 p.m. in the Athletic Complex.

All WashU students are welcome to shop for free business and professional attire available at the Professional Clothes Closet Shopapalooza kickoff event Feb. 4, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in DUC 276.

The iGrad Money Marathon is a four-week financial well-being challenge designed to help students build confidence and strengthen financial skills while winning exciting prizes along the way.

Registration for intramural sports is underway. Grab your friends (or join a team solo!) and jump into the game—no experience required.
|
|
|
This eight-week course teaches students how to explore difficult topics such as politics, religion, race and gender in a positive and productive way. Classes run from Feb. 23 to April 17.

Registration is now live for students on all WashU campuses to register and participate in the May Affinity Student Celebrations. Participation in an Affinity Celebration is open to all graduating students from December 2025 and May 2026. Any questions can be directed to the CDI.
