Engineering Design Abroad in Cartagena, Colombia |
Join us on Wednesday, October 1, at 12 noon to hear more about the exciting new offering of ME 90 Engineering Design Abroad in Cartagena, Colombia, which is open to engineers from all engineering disciplines. ME 90 entails a semester-long, community-based design project that integrates selected community partners in the project planning and decision-making process, culminating in a real-world deliverable.

| Curatorial Conversation: Work, Careers, and Community |
Join Tufts University Art Galleries' (TUAG) Curator and Director of the Collective Futures Fund Laurel V. McLaughlin on Wednesday, October 1, at 12 noon–1 p.m. in the SMFA Artist Resource Center (B205) for informal conversation about curatorial work, career options, and acknowledging and galvanizing artistic communities. BFA and MFA students can bring questions about curating projects, planning for internships or future curatorial careers, and ideas/questions about audience-building.

Join us on Thursday, October 2, at 12 noon–1 p.m. via Zoom to prepare for your job search by understanding your product: you! We'll talk about defining and researching your target markets, uncovering published and unpublished jobs—the "hidden job market”—and using multiple job search methods effectively.

Volunteer for Community Day 2025! |
Community Day is an annual event that welcomes about 2,500 neighbors to campus for live performances, exhibits, resource tables, and displays from various organizations. We are looking for student volunteers to help us set up and clean up, direct organizations to their tables, help families with activities and other tasks as needed. Volunteer commitment is Sunday, October 5, at 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on the Academic Quad. You will receive a free t-shirt, barbecue, and JumboCash as a thank you.

Students and Student Organizations can submit events to JumboLife! Add your event by Thursday at 12 noon each week, and we'll include it in the Jumbo Digest on Sunday.

Jumbo Spring Break 2026 in Hawaii |
Jumbo Spring Break is the trip of a lifetime! You will make friends, have a very unique experience, and be a difference-maker in a local community on this immersive service-learning trip to Hawaii with other Tufts students during spring break. During the day, we will build homes for families in need. In the evenings, we will experience Hawaii's unique culture and have fun social experiences and excursions. Applications are now open. You can apply until October 3.

| TEDxTufts Speaker Opportunities! |
Applications to speak at TEDxTufts are now open! TEDxTufts, Tufts' student-run, independently organized TED program, highlights the voices and ideas of students, faculty, and alumni with two events: Our inaugural Fall Event (with the Community Health department) features five- to seven-minute lightning talks and a panel (deadline: September 28). Our flagship Spring Conference (March 2026) draws over 500 attendees with full-length talks (deadline: October 5), later featured on TED's global platforms. Apply now!

| Host a High School Student for Voices of Tufts on October 19 |
Tufts Admissions will soon be hosting Voices of Tufts, an overnight program for high school seniors, on Sunday, October 19–Monday, October 20. We are seeking undergraduates who live on the Medford/Somerville campus to host one or more prospective students overnight on Sunday, October 19. To sign up, log in to SIS, select Student Living, and select MyJumboLife portal to access the Voices overnight host form ("Voices of Tufts Overnight Host Signup").
