Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund (KACIF) grants are available to GW students who are participating in unpaid internships that will advance their career.
JULIAN CLEMENT CHASE PRIZE
This annual $1,000 prize recognizes exceptional writing projects focused on the District of Columbia in GW undergraduate classes.The prize honors Sgt. Julian Clement Chase, who was killed in action in Afghanistan after his acceptance to attend SMPA.

CHRONICLE OF HIGHER EDUCATION FALL 2018 REPORTING WORKSHOP
The Chronicle is hosting a series of workshops with student journalists. Learn how to read university tax forms, meet with a Chronicle mentor and perfect your résumé and cover letter. The fall workshop will take place from September 6  7.

2018 NATION STUDENT JOURNALISM CONFERENCE
The Nation magazine invites SMPA students to apply for their third annual Student Journalism Conference. The conference brings together the next generation of independent journalists to learn more about social movements, their historical and contemporary impact on electoral politics and how journalists can better cover them.
The conference is free for all accepted applicants and a small number of travel grants and free housing spots are available.

INMA WORLD CONGRESS OF NEWS MEDIA
INMA is inviting up to 20 SMPA students and faculty to attend the World Congress of News Media for free in D.C. VOLUNTEER VIDEOGRAPHERS NEEDED!
UNITED NATIONS FOUNDATION GIRL UP SUMMIT
The United Nations Foundation seeks volunteer videographers for the Girl Up Summit to conduct interviews and collect B-roll footage for short minute videos. Videographers will be credited across UNF social channels reaching 600,000 followers. 
Videographers must be able to commit to working from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 9 and/or 10 in Washington, D.C.
