Traffic Calming One Neighborhood At a Time

Plans for traffic calming at Jones and Dellway presented to the neighborhood community in June. Signs, markings, speed humps all approved by the committee. Look for the petition if you live in the affected areas during the month of July.
Other Neighborhoods that are set to Apply for Review during the July Application Period:
  • Maynor - Iverson Neighborhood Association
  • Chadwell near Port
  • Sanders Avenue  trouble spots from Broadmoor to Due West  Ave
Public Works now opens two traffic calming application periods per year—one in January and one in July. Neighborhoods are able to submit completed traffic calming applications during this time. Once the application window has closed, Public Works begins data collection in each neighborhood to determine how they will be scored.

4-Way Stop on East Campbell

After asking on behalf of the homes on East Campbell, Grayland and Highland Circle for at least three years.  We have approval from Public Works to implement a 4-Way stop at this intersection.
The sight-lines, the traffic calming and the general safety of the neighborhood pushed me to get this done before the end of the current council term.
Traffic and Parking Commission will hear this in their July 8,  meeting for approval.  Once approved, all stop signs and stop ahead signs will be installed accordingly.

Preservation Party brings out Madison Musicians and Neighbors in the rain.

What an incredible memory we all made at the Historic Carter-Smith and Mayo Barn! We had about 50 folks, regardless of the rain, and raised nearly 4k for the re-election campaign. Special thanks to Todd Mayo for hosting at the historic and amazing place and to John Walker and all the Music City Roots Family for producing a great event!

"Even with all its bachelorette party, pedal tavern, e-scooter lunacy, Nashville still offers authentic moments, like Carlene Carter, granddaughter of Mother Maybelle, performing in the same place where she grew up around Johnny and June, Elvis, Merle and them. This is about 6 blocks from our house." - Heidi Hall

"Great music with the percussive accompaniment of rain on a barn roof at one of the family homes of the Carters, all to support Nancy VanReece's re-election campaign. Old-school guitar with progressive lyrics; barns and local brews; neighbors and forward-looking leadership. For me, the best of Nashville (and Madison!) is how we hold on to a lot of the good stuff while moving forward into the future at the same time." - Hon. Kristine LaLonde, former Councilmember, and Associate Dean innovation and Community Impact, Lipscomb University
