Instructional Assistant Opportunities

This session describes the ways students may gain practical teaching experience, as an Instructional Apprentice, under the mentorship of a Biology course instructor. An overview of the application process, a faculty member’s viewpoint on the experience, and a student’s perspective on participation will be shared. Open to students interested in practical teaching experience at the collegiate level.

The BSSA Experience gives students the opportunity to network with a panel of third- and fourth-year students who will be revealing how they obtained their research positions, volunteer opportunities, internships, jobs, and more. This event serves to pass down knowledge to current students and help them get a better idea of how to get involved through the various opportunities offered by the university. BioScholars hosts this unique opportunity. This event aims to help students understand the differences between graduate school and medical school in terms of application process, career prospects, how to be a competitive applicant, and more. RSVP and let us know your interested in attending.

The BioScholars program is designed to connect students to the resources of a large university while providing an intimate collegiate atmosphere. BioScholars provides challenging intellectual and leadership opportunities for academically excelling undergraduates majoring in the Biological Sciences. Exceptional admission is possible for transfer and continuing students if the applicant has at least a 3.7 minimum cumulative GPA. Application deadline is Nov. 1, 2017.
