On Tuesday, November 14, at 6:30 pm in Barnum Hall Room 104, join Tufts Film and Media Studies, Tufts Department of Philosophy, and the Boston Cinema/Media Seminar for a talk featuring Mario De Caro, University of Roma Tre and Tufts University, and Enrico Terrone, University of Genoa, with respondent Malcolm Turvey, Tufts University.

Through Fire and Water: How Climate and Land Use Are Changing Tropical Landscapes and the Search for Solutions |
The Brazilian Amazon and Cerrado biomes are experiencing rapid land use and climate changes that have intensified and accelerated over the last decade. Dr. Marcia Macedo will present ongoing research on how these compounding disturbances are changing the trajectory of these tropical ecosystems for this week's Hoch Cunningham (HoCu) Environmental lecture on Thursday, November 16, at 12 noon in the Curtis Hall Multipurpose Room and via livestream. She will also share her perspective on how data from field observations, satellites, and modeling can be integrated to support management interventions and identify solutions.

Are you interested in global justice and gaining a deeper understanding of Rwandan culture, history, and post-genocide reconciliation? Hear from a diverse array of guest lecturers, as well as participate in meaningful conversation. Come to the GIM at Hillel on Wednesday, November 15, at 12:30 p.m. to learn more about the Rwanda Fellowship and the accompanied immersive trip to Rwanda at the end of the semester, as well as to get access to the application form early! | Dance Films With Mitchell Rose |
Mitchell Rose is an American director of short films known for comedic work and dance film. He began his career as a choreographer and performance artist and then migrated to film and his works have won numerous awards. The screening on Thursday, November 16, at 7 p.m. in Barnum Hall Room 104 will feature several short dance films followed by a discussion with the filmmaker. Co-sponsored by Tufts Film and Media Studies Program and Tufts Dance Program.

Winter Farmers Market Trip |
Join the SustainableCORE Fellows for a trip to the Somerville Winter Farmers Market on Saturday, November 18, at 11 a.m.! Learn about local vendors, farming practices, sustainable shopping, and explore the Arts at the Armory just off Magoun Square. Every attendee will receive a voucher to a chosen vendor as a memento of the trip. The Office of Sustainability will provide CharlieCards.

Senior Portraits...Last Chance |
Seniors! This is your last chance this semester to have your senior portrait taken. Senior portrait sessions are free, and they are the only way to have your photo in the 2024 Senior Memory Book. Photo package purchases are optional. The photographer will be on campus the week of November 13 in Campus Center Room 112.

Entering the Final Week of Majors Month and the Advising Period
Support for major exploration and declaration in Arts & Sciences and Engineering continues the week of November 12. View the full schedule of Majors Month events. Please remember to schedule an appointment with your Major Advisor, Pre-Major Advisor, or designated Senior Academic Advisor to plan for your spring 2024 courses and to have your Registration HOLD lifted. Spring 2024 courses are available to view on SIS. Familiarize yourself with upcoming registration dates and deadlines by visiting the Academic Calendar.
Tuesday, November 14, at 11:59 p.m. EST is the deadline to:

- Select a course Pass/Fail
- Withdraw from a course for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors (receive a "W" on your transcript)
- Withdraw from a course without record of enrollment for first-semester First-Year undergraduates, first-semester Transfer students, and first-semester REAL students

Sustainable Special Interest Housing |
Are you thinking about housing for next year and interested in sustainability? Apply now to be considered for two sustainability-themed housing options on the Medford/Somerville campus! The HIVE (Hillside Apartments) is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in sustainable living and issues surrounding sustainability. The Green House (12 Bellevue St.) has single bedrooms for juniors and seniors who want to live in an inclusive sustainable community. Applications close on January 23.
