At this year’s Stand Up for Kids, we were honored to recognize Kathryn Crawford with the Volunteer Impact Award for her service to Canopy Center’s CASA program.
Before presenting the award, we shared a video highlighting the kind of care, consistency, and advocacy CASA volunteers like Kathryn bring to the children and families they serve. One of the children Kathryn supported was able to join us at the event to present her with the award in person, making the moment even more meaningful. Thank you, Lexi. ♥️
Kathryn’s connection to Canopy Center and CASA runs deep. Her family has been a longtime supporter of this work. Her late husband, Jim, served on Canopy Center’s Board of Directors, and her son continues to support our events through their family business, Crawford Oil & Propane.
We are grateful for Kathryn, for her family, and for every CASA volunteer who shows up for children and youth during some of the most uncertain moments in their lives.

Oasis Attends Monona Grove
Pre-Prom Consent Fair
|
Earlier this month, Oasis Clinical Director Vincent and Therapist Ali attended Monona Grove High School's Consent Fair, held before their prom.
They talked with students about healthy relationships, consent, and self-awareness, and handed out nearly 50 consent kits. Each kit included a Consent Zine and a piece of sour candy, which can be a helpful grounding tool when someone is feeling anxious!
The event was also a chance to connect with school staff and other community organizations supporting teen health and wellness, including Centro, DAIS, RCC, Unidos, and Public Health.
Afterward, Vincent shared that it was, “fantastic getting to see the sexual health and wellness community come together to support teens.”
Jack Johnson, Student & Family Engagement Specialist at Monona Grove High School, also shared a kind note with participating organizations after the event, writing that the fair was a huge success and thanking everyone who came to support students and staff.
If you’re hosting a school event, community resource fair, or would like someone to speak with the students or youth you work with, we’d love to be part of the conversation. If know of a program that could benefit, we welcome opportunities to connect. Please contact: info@canopycenter.org

Stand Up for Kids Raised a Record-Breaking $92,463!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Stand Up for Kids such a meaningful and successful night.
Together, our community raised a record-breaking $92,463 to support Canopy Center’s work with children and families impacted by child abuse and neglect.
We are so grateful to our sponsors, attendees, donors, volunteers, and everyone who helped make the evening possible. Proceeds from Stand Up for Kids help us remain flexible and responsive to the needs of the children, families and survivors we serve - whether that means advocacy, therapy, supervised family time or resources and support during moments of crisis and transition.
Thank you for standing up for kids with us.
And another thank you to our sponsors:

We’ve had such an amazing response to our Amazon Wishlist this year and we again want to say thank you to everyone who has sent items our way!
We’ve received popcorn, Clorox wipes, paper towels, Uno, play cars, scratch art cards, foam swords and shields, and more. These practical and playful items help us create safe spaces that feel welcoming, and help us continue to provide play-based services appropriate for kids.
Several gifts came from anonymous donors, and we’ve also received a number of donations from someone named "Kelly." We would love to know who you are so we can thank you properly. Kelly, show yourself! 😉
Your support makes a difference in the care we’re able to provide!

We're hiring a Clinical Director for our Oasis Mental Health Clinic.
Oasis provides compassionate, trauma-informed mental health services for children and youth who have experienced sexual abuse, as well as support for non-offending caregivers and family members. The Clinical Director plays an important leadership role in guiding this work and supporting the team that makes it possible.
While we are sad to see Vincent go, we are excited for them to pursue a PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison this fall!
If you or someone you know would be a strong fit for this role, we encourage you to a look and share the opportunity.
