Paddlefest 2019: August 2nd-3rd

Our Education Team is making this year's Paddlefest zero waste! Thanks to Hamilton County Recycling & Solid Waste District, we have the funds to provide both recycling and organic waste diversion at the Friday night Paddlers' Party and Saturday at the Finish Line Party. The Ohio River Paddlefest is recognized as the nation's largest paddling celebration with over 2,200 participants traveling 9 miles throughout downtown Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky in canoes, kayaks, and other human-powered craft.

Arts Program

Our Arts team has been busy this year painting facades over 80 boarded up buildings throughout the city. Each year we target vacant buildings for facade painting and transform these neglected structures into vibrant spaces. Check out the before and after photos of this building at the corner of Race and Liberty in Over the Rhine. It is pretty amazing what a little bit of paint and sweat equity can do!

A big THANK YOU to Camp Give 3rd-4th grade campers at Magnified Giving for recognizing Keep Cincinnati Beautiful as a community asset and awarding us $128. This unique camp exposes kids to local nonprofits and how to be involved in giving back to the community

Keep Cincinnati Beautiful's Future Blooms program was awarded $35,000 from the Eleanora C. U. Alms Trust, Fith Third Bank, Trustee.  The gift will enable our Arts team to identify strategic intervention sites, coordinate volunteers, and revitalize key neighborhood corridors with 60 low-cost works of art.  By integrating art into the every day, we are turning blighted areas from a public nuisance into a public benefit.
