The Bridge began on February 27, 2005, upstairs in the Callahan Auditorium. It moved to a renovated Chitwood Hall in 2008. But it wasn’t the first contemporary worship service. In 1994, we briefly had a Saturday night contemporary worship service. In 1998, the New Song service began in the Church Activity Center (the “CAC”). While it didn’t last, it paved the way for the Bridge. All in God’s time…

Little Lambs Fall Sale - Volunteers Still Needed! |
The Little Lambs Sale is a large, community wide semiannual consignment sale sponsored by FUMCT. It is completely operated by church members and community volunteers.
We would love to have our church family help us execute this amazing week where thousands of local families will come through our doors. We could use a few more volunteers on Friday, Aug. 28 from 2:30-5:30pm and Saturday, Aug. 29 from 11am-2:30pm. If you’d like volunteer (for these or any times), please email us at littlelambstuscaloosa@gmail.com.

Community Soup Bowl Volunteer Sign-Up Is Now Online |
The Community Soup Bowl now offers online volunteer sign-up for weekday and weekend shifts. As part of this transition, the previous scheduling process and mailed reminder postcards will be discontinued.
Weekday shifts are 10:15 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and primarily involve serving lunch. Weekend shifts are 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. and may include food preparation, serving, and cleaning.
First United Methodist Church is proud to be one of the founders of the Community Soup Bowl and grateful for the many members who continue to support this important ministry.

Tuesday Tips from FUMCT Wellness |
Get up from your desk or comfy chair every hour to add moments of movement throughout the day. When it’s too hot to take a quick stroll outside, try exercises such as squats, knee lifts, marching in place, or wall or counter pushups. Research shows that short bursts of activity contribute to better cardiovascular health, improved mood, greater focus, and increased energy.
