2025 with A Widow's Way
We have had some dynamic speakers and conversations on recent zoom conversations. We focused these past several months on the importance of taking care of ourselves spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Here's a glimpse into who we've learned from.
Sharon Wood, one of our members, introduced us to Faithful Workouts and the founder Michelle Spadafora. Sharon led us in a brief stretch/yoga workout which was just a taste of what the website, faithfulworkouts.org offers. Michelle began this a fitness ministry with the mission of helping people get physically and spiritually stronger.
Andrea Pittman, founder of The Nectar Group shared how it is possible to improve our brain health, memory, and cognitive focus. Thank you Jane Bruce (one of our members) for also sharing your experience and success with this program.
Kathy Furtado, BSN, MS, is a widow, a former RN, and a writer shared the background of her memoir Days of Awe. “My husband and I met on a Jerusalem bus 40 years ago. We married just 10 days later! The memoir of that first year of marriage, titled Days of Awe, was published in 2023. I attribute the success of our marriage to my faith in Jesus, whom I first learned about in my high school Young Life club. While writing the memoir, I found it so therapeutic to write about that first year, and to contact old friends from Israel. Now I’m retired, still involved with Young Life, and enjoy being outdoors, reading, language study, volunteering, and community building.”
