Dear Gregg Museum friends and supporters | |
|
As a new season begins, we’re excited to welcome students back to campus and to invite all of you into what promises to be a vibrant and inspiring year at the Gregg Museum of Art & Design.
Whether you're a student stepping onto campus for the first time or a long-time supporter of the arts, there’s something for you here this fall. We’re kicking things off with Welcome Week activities designed to spark curiosity and reflection—including a Slow Looking art tour with me, a meditative sound bath inside the Your Brain on Art exhibition, and a meet and greet with muralists from the Rough Edge Collection. These programs are just the beginning of what we hope will be a season filled with meaningful experiences.
Over the past year, our team has been laying the groundwork for new initiatives that put students at the center—internships, student-led events, cross-campus collaborations, and more. Now that I’ve completed my first year as Director, I’m more energized than ever by the Gregg Museum's potential to foster high-impact learning, interdisciplinary exploration through arts-integrated research and deep community connections.
But this work doesn’t happen in isolation. We need your participation—your presence, your ideas, and your support. Whether you’re attending a program, sharing our exhibitions with others, or contributing financially, your involvement helps make the Gregg a welcoming, inclusive, and creative space for everyone. We're primarily seeking partners to help us grow student employment, expand our artist residency program, bring more public art to life, and keep our outdoor concert series thriving.
If you're curious about how to get involved, I’d love to hear from you.

Launching This Fall: Art + Science at the Gregg Museum and at N.C. Plant Sciences Initiative |
|
|
This season, we launch a new Arts + Science initiative exploring the vital role that plants and nature have in our daily lives. A series of exhibitions, artist residencies and public programs will invite you to consider the natural world through the lens of art, inquiry and community. Join us for conversations with artists, scientists and local leaders; hands-on workshops and sketching sessions; and concerts that animate the Gregg’s galleries and grounds.
We are incredibly grateful to our collaborators and partners for making this possible, and we would like to thank N.C. Plant Sciences Initiative, the Office of University Interdisciplinary Programs, and the support of the Burroughs Wellcome Fund to make these programs possible.
