Happy Monday, and welcome to the new season—and I mean that! After the winter we had, the arrival of Spring is truly welcome! I hope that, between the rain and the NCAA tournaments that you’re feeling the season in earnest…and looking forward to seeing the March Madness coverage provided by our very own Pirates in the Field, who are going to be providing wall-to-wall coverage of the Men’s and Women’s NCAA Final Four—stay tuned!
There is certainly a lot of energy around campus with events and activities around the University. Last Thursday, for example, our faculty and administrators gathered for CHDCM Celebrates! Our event focused on our College’s commitment to experiential learning in all forms—which also let us celebrate students from across our four departments, all of whom are taking advantage of the amazing opportunities that CHDCM has to offer! Similarly, on Friday, I was proud to be among the members of our College community welcoming our admitted undergraduate students for Pirate Preview—and thanks to all of the faculty and students who took part in these community-wide recruitment efforts to bring in our next great class of CHDCM students!
These events aside, the warming temperatures also mean that we’re approaching the end of the academic year…and I know that you’re likely focused on registration for Summer classes and the Fall semester, with finals and commencement just around the corner. I look forward to celebrating these annual milestones with you all in the weeks to come—but, even as we peek ahead, we still have successes to celebrate, upcoming events to promote, and lots of other good news to share. So: read on and enjoy! As always, also keep your good news and event notes coming, and I wish you all a great first full week of Spring…

In the article, Dr. Rauchberg explains that the technology people use to take and share photos plays a major role. “The way we behave, the way we act, what we do, and even how we position our bodies are going to change based on the different technologies or platforms we have available,” she tells Yahoo News.
