AABP Next Generation Veterinary Practice Analysis Workshops
The American Association of Bovine Practitioners received a grant to provide Next Generation Veterinary Practice Analysis Workshops for veterinarians who have graduated from a U.S. veterinary school since 2007. The grant will fund eight Year One workshops (four in 2017, four in 2018) and eight Year Two workshops (four in 2018, four in 2019) for 12-15 practitioners each during the next three years. These workshops are accretive and involve a commitment over a two-year period. Successful applicants will be required to complete pre-workshop assignments prior to each workshop. USDA Awards $4.3 Million to Ensure Access to Needed Veterinary Services in Rural Communities
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) awarded more than $4.3 million to 48 American veterinarians to help repay a portion of their veterinary school loans in return for serving in areas lacking sufficient veterinary resources critical to America's food safety, food security, and to the health and well-being of animals and humans. FDA Approves of New Drug used to Treat Ringworm in Cats
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced in November the approval of Itrafungol (itraconazole oral solution), a new animal drug for treating dermatophytosis (commonly known as ringworm) caused by Microsporum canis in cats. Click here for more information.
