The series showcases her evolution from behind-the-scenes storyteller to an emotional cornerstone of the series, offering rare glimpses into her life, challenges and triumphs.

Be the first to witness "Wright of Passage", a thrilling true story of adventure, legacy and resilience, created by talented UNF alumni filmmakers. This documentary is led by filmmaker Lee Giat ’18, who began his journey as a storyteller right here at UNF, honing his craft through campus projects and student media before launching into professional filmmaking.
Walk the red carpet, enjoy handcrafted cocktails and concessions. Connect with filmmakers, community leaders and special guests featured in the documentary. Presented in partnership with the University of North Florida, the film will make its official debut at the newly renovated Andrew A. Robinson Jr. Theater.

| UNF breaks ground on new apartment complex |
The University of North Florida, Chance Partners and Fansler Construction have broken ground on 30° North, a new 702-bed student apartment community set to open in Fall 2027.
The four-building complex will offer fully furnished units and a wide range of amenities, including a pool, fitness center, dog park, pickleball courts and nature trails.
As the second major housing project in two years, 30° North reflects UNF’s continued investment in strategic growth and an enhanced residential experience for students. Learn more.

UNF to open heat exercise laboratory on campus |
The University of North Florida, in partnership with the Korey Stringer Institute and Perry Weather, will open a state-of-the-art heat exercise laboratory this spring to advance research, education and safety practices related to exertional heat stress.
The new lab at Hicks Hall will support student and faculty research while using advanced environmental monitoring technology to develop evidence-based strategies that protect athletes, military personnel and laborers in Jacksonville and beyond. Learn more.

| Earn a Free AI Certificate from UNF |
The University of North Florida has launched a new noncredit certificate program, AI for Work and Life, designed to help professionals, students and lifelong learners understand and apply artificial intelligence in practical, everyday contexts.
Anyone who successfully completes the course by Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, will earn a UNF certificate for free (a $249 value). Learn more.

UNF alumnus Jim Baur ’95 has a connection to the University of North Florida that spans decades, from living in the Village Apartments as a student in the early 1990s to returning as the founder of Baur Power Wash and a longtime campus leader.
Throughout his career, he played key roles across multiple UNF divisions, most notably helping shape the Student Wellness Complex, earning him the nickname “the Historian.”
His story is deeply woven into the university’s past and future, now extending to his wife, a former UNF fitness leader, and their children, who are continuing the family legacy as students. Learn more.
