With more than 40 speakers in 10 sessions with 13 networking hubs it was outstanding weekend that challenged, inspired and prepared our alumni for what’s Next. On April 10th more than 80 Real Estate and Infrastructure alumni and friends gathered to hear insights, opportunities and challenges for Mixed Use Development. Alumni appreciated the various perspectives presented by speakers Marcus Bertagnolli (MBA ’90), COO, North American Development Group and Tom Giancos, VP, Development, KingSett Capital. Thank you to Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt for hosting an informative session.

The Schulich/RBC alumni were treated to a wonderful evening of networking and learning on April 19th. The discussion on big data and its marketing implications with William A. Stewart, Senior Director, Data & Analytics (DNA), Royal Bank of Canada and Joe Fayt, Instructor of Marketing, Schulich School of Business was informative. Thank you to the executive alumni committee Kariann Dale (MBA ’98), Renee Huang (iBBA ’07), Rick Kotick (MBA ’06), Virkanwal Randhawa (MBA ’14), Theleepan Surendra (MBA ’11), Izabella Wilczynska (IMBA ’09) and RBC for hosting the event that was open to all Schulich Alumni currently working at RBC.

On May 2nd Dana Krechowicz (IMBA '07), President of the Sustainability Alumni Association along with the new Ervian K. Haub Chair in Business & Sustainability, Professor Charles Cho gathered at the Business and Sustainability Alumni Social. An enjoyable evening was had by all.

| The Art of Authorship: An Evening with Raghu
| |
On May 3rd the Schulich community attended a special fireside chat with Dr. V. Raghunathan, CEO of Varalakshmi Foundation and Director, Schulich School of Business, Hyderabad Campus. His extensive career as a banker, a teacher, a corporate executive and a renowned author and columnist made for an enjoyable discussion around the numerous books he has published. His advice on the secret to writing and observations on human behavior was insightful.

A Milestone Anniversary Celebration for the BBA Class of 1978. On April 27th classmates gathered for an informal dinner during the CONNECT weekend. All appreciated the opportunity to re-connect and reminisce while looking forward to what’s Next. Thank you to our 40th Anniversary Reunion Ambassadors John McLaughlin and Jeff Halpern.

| Why Should I Consider the PMI®-PBA Certification?

| I have always thought that this was a ‘no-brainer’. Apparently, I was wrong. I really thought that this certification opportunity would explode within the ranks of the professional project management community.
It really hasn’t, and I have been quite surprised.
So, let me put you in the shoes of an HR director or manager looking at a resume or LinkedIn profile. You see the words ‘Professional Project Manager” and even “PMP designation”. Truthfully, these days, your reaction would be one of “Seen many of those – so tell me what’s different?’
